| I wonder how many people would actually be studying during the day. Its just practically a free holiday before the exams start. I have to admit, i would of probably of done more revision if i was at school than i was at home. Whether i would of got higher grades if we stayed at school, i don't know but it is certainly a better environment than it is at home. I'll be interested what others think about this, do you prefer to study at home or at school? | |

Whether i would of got higher grades if we stayed at school, i don't know but it is certainly a better environment than it is at home. I'll be interested what others think about this, do you prefer to study at home or at school? At home there are many things to distract you like a TV even if its turned off its there for you to watch. There are many other discractions at home like playing gaming consoles or anything else. Also another thing some people think or see other people who should be studying walking around outside so they think why should I study. Good thing about being at home is you can make yourself relaxed and go into a room alone and be at peace. The bad thing is you can get distracted easily. (that sounds bad I know) The good thing about being at school is your in a class with everyone else studying all at the same time. The teachers are all there to help you with anything aswell and they can make sure everyone studies. The bad thing is studying is really boring and spending all day at school doing it is hellish. At home you can decide when to take a break how much studying do you need to do today. The school is trusting you to take care of yourself, be responsible for your own education. So when you go home to study you can either not study, study a bit or study a lot. I do admit I could have studied more but GTA IV came out on the very day my study leave started!! Lol!

| The thing is Sean, you don't have to study everytime you are in school, i mean you can learn every other stuff aswell. I think the results will be even better in this country if we have people studying at school instead of home. It must be noted that the GCSE results are very good amongst teenagers, whether that is down to people studying at home or the exams are just too easy is debateable mind. | |

| I dont think the exams are easy tbh-especially when your trying to juggle with the other subject exams too. For example my History paper requires alot of knowledge and the questions are all essay based for almost 2 hours.

I suppose at school you could be given longer breaks and the study time could give you time to improve on weak area's in a certain subject. Results have improved across the UK I remember watching the Scottish news last year and they said results where at their record high. I don't think exams are getting easier and harder. - Admin wrote:

Oh yes I done history at your age a few years ago it was really hard if you don't know anything your fecked. I done Graphic Comunnication too in the tests before the exam I got the highest marks in the class the teacher who thought I was dumb was shocked. Then when the big real exam came somehow I messed up in it mind went blank. I remember my mind went blank and couldn't spell my name. I was so busy revising in my head and forgot the basics.

On the Wednesday before my Friday Geography exam i am off to Alton Towers lol Its also my last geog lesson before the exam. Then again its study leave and i don't have to be in, if i don't know it by the Wednesday then god help me in the exam (is now i see it) !!

| I make bullet points from all my books then get a past paper and use my bullet points to help me answer the questions. | |

| Not a bad suggestion, i suppose... If it works for you and helps ya, then all the better. I can safely say, you suggestion is alot better and more adviseable to give to someone who are doing exams this year. | |

| Yeah, i use the past papers quite a lot, i also read the mark schemes as well. Often they ask the similar questions as they have done in previous years, if its for science, ICT, geography etc... Just shows how you should answer questions and the key points to remember | |

| Just done a solid half an hour of revision. Still got about 60 pages to go through and make notes then I go onto some questions. After that I'll start another subject maybe Admin or French. I'm off on Tuesday and have an Exam on Wednesday so on Tuesday I'll do a few past papers for PE. Hopefully I'll survive! Busy day so far. | |
