Thursday and Friday currently looks good for some sharp or even thundery showers for the Midlands and Southern England in particular but perhaps East Anglia and Wales also. One to watch as it could well be a case if this comes off where up the road it stays dry while down the road has been lashed with a downpour!

Hail and Thunder in these showers very likely at times.

Just had a beasty thunderstorm here with some very close CGS and very loud thunder and still some grumbling and rumbling going on

some of the returns down southampton way on the radar , woah! :O

Heavy rain here now. Tomorrow could be one of those days where its sunshine one moment to downpour the next moment.

Risk of storms tomorrow and Saturday for anywhere pretty much South of Manchester.

Unfortunately no at the moment. Storms risk very much kept to around here these next few days. Im still awaiting my first storm of 2010 anyway!

Amazing thundery skies here this evening. Lightning detectors have detected a strike near here this evening and we have had heavy showers but the cloudscapes and setting sun make it truly wonderful.

Convection here though quite messy. The most interesting part of the day will probably be the late afternoon/early evening period just like yesterday.

There hasn't been a thunder storm here in ages not since early 2008.

But last year on holiday in souther Scotland it was a hot day and cloudy all of a sudden heavy rain came and the place started to flood within minutes. We got to the hotel which is thankfully high up on a hill. When we got to our bedroom I looked outside and saw flashes of thunder just feet away from the hotel and the rumbles where really loud we had about 6 strikes near us and then it moved away.

I just wanted to teleport everyone to the hotel room from Net Weather who loves thunder storms.

Convection was destroyed today because of a system in the SW which no model predicted it right tbh.

I wonder if i see my 1st storm of the year on sunday
